Links

These links are from places that have been helpful to me or ones that I know have a big impact on life. Some of them may be more personal in nature while some are just resources used to help put this website together. For a site to make it on here means it is one that has touched me deeply and so I included it for others.

Healing Therapy

These healing therapies are ones that I am well aware of or have tried personally. As with any healing therapy, you need to evaluate it for your own situation. Good advice to follow is if the person you go to claims to have all the answers, then you might want to step back and rethink things. If a person helps you uncover the truths within yourself, than they are someone to check out a little further. There are many that claim to be healers when in fact, they are not coming from a pure place.

  1. Dr. Paul Canali - Evolutionary Healing Institute - I can personally vouch for his therapy and work because it has physically changed my life. From ridding myself of migraine headaches, depression, ulcers, anxiety, allergies and a severe rash and itching, to many other physical ailments, my life has been changed. The physical healing in me was a byproduct of the work. Dr. Canali is a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine working out of the Miami, Florida area. Check his website out for more information and to see upcoming seminars and lectures.
  2. Mike Lew - Next Step Counseling - I got to know Mike Lew from an interview for a newsletter I was writing many years ago. I have had the unique opportunity to sit in a couple of his mini-seminars and my life was changed as a result. His two books were instrumental in my healing and recovery. Mike Lew is a psychotherapist in the Brookline, MA area and conducts male survivor workshops all over the world.
  3. Dr. Howard Fradkin - Affirmations Therapy - He has a private practice in the Columbus, OH area and is also the co-chairperson of the Weekends Of Recovery for Male Survivors. You may recognize Dr. Fradkin from the 200 Male Survivor Episode on Oprah in Nov 2010.

Blogs

Here are a few blogs that I have been introduced to around the internet. I I am always on the lookout for blogs that come from the heart and showcase individuals in their own journey of healing and self awareness. One of the most difficult things about listing blogs on a website is someone will start writing a great blog and then as the months go by, they stop which renders the link, null and void.

  1. Mind Body Thoughts Blog - This is the blog that I write for on a daily basis and my goal and hope is that it will lead people to greater awareness and healing in their life. My blog is an open expose on my own daily life of healing, further self discovery and just how I deal with this thing called life.

Research

Research gives all work a voice! There are many wonderful places doing research out in the world and some of them are even valid and repeatable when it comes to results and scientific fact. Unfortunately, too much research is compromised because of the funding source, but reported as fact. Please do not believe everything that is reported but instead look at who is funding the research. Hopefully with time, I will be able to add more highly qualified places to this list that does research.

  1. Touch Research Institute - Miami, FL. They have done wonderful research on the effects of touch and massage on small infants giving us facts to back up assertions made by massage therapists. I have had the unique opportunity to meet these wonderful people and get an inside look into the work they do.

Massage

Massage is much more than relaxation! If everyone received at least one massage each week, this world would change in dramatic ways. Unfortunately, humans feel it is something that you do on a vacation or on some special occasion. Yet, there are excellent health benefits. Here are a few links relating to massage that hopefully will help someone become just a little better informed and learn that massage is much more than a holiday luxury.

  1. Educating Hands School Of Massage - Miami, FL . This was the school I was trained at and it is considered to be one of the top schools in the country. As a student, you are not taught massage by a recipe but through developing all your senses and perceptions. This gives the graduating students a greater degree of expertise as they are able to meet the body where it is at and approach it with what it needs, rather than with what the cookbook states should be done.

Website Resources

Places that I use for my website - Here are a few sites around the internet that have been helpful to me in building my own website. There are many out there but these are ones that I personally know and use.

  1. Lunar Pages.com Web Hosting - I've been with Lunar Pages for several years now. They have excellent customer support, performance and usability. Their web hosting packages fit just about every need and are priced very well. They even have an affiliate account where you can earn a very attractive commission every time someone signs up.
